A meeting became unavoidable
for the Team of the Classic Days !
For the second consecutive year,
still on board of the R8 Gordini,
we are on the way to the Circuit of the Ramparts
and his international Rally of Charente.
This year, the 31st edition of his history
coincided with the 70th birthday of his creation.
This unic meeting
on the only urban circuit,
still with the same track
as it was in 1939
bringing together more than 300 worthy representatives
of theautomobile heritage.
From Friday night, vibe is here.
The City Hall and his gardens warmly welcome participants and downtown turns into automobile museum to the delight of the residents:

The Schedule:
elegancy contest, exhibition, International rally of Charente,
state contest, and of course the famous race
on the legendary route of the Circuit of the Ramparts.

On Saturday morning, the 200 participants meet to take the departure. What a pleasure to cross such marvellous cars, all different of each other.
We found particularly some Avions Voisins from 1929, increasingly rare nowadays with only 210 outstanding, including 140 in France.

Then the visit goes ahead with the Tricyclecars
(Darmont, Morgan, Stanford… numerously represented),
Bentley, MG, Panhard, Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Austin Healey… |

What a serie! Here is a little glimpse…
Unfortunately this year, the weather did not take part of the meeting but this did not spoil the party. All trip long, the residents of the village we passed by waited firmly the participants to wave them, what a nice show!
The interest for the nice old cars is well present. It’s a real pleasure to meet all these amateur or passionate brings together to admire these jewels.
After 200 km of happiness,
the rally takes end and drives us to the Victor Hugo Place.
Despite the rain, the crowd is still present.

The ceremony award evening, presided by Sir Jean René Trillard,
is extended with a cocktail dinner always as original. |

To mark the organizer birthday and the 70 years old of this single circuit in the world, some famous people of automobile sport were invited:
Jackie Stewart, Alain Prost, Jean Pierre Beltoise, Henri Pescarollo, Jean Pierre Jabouille, and Jean Pierre Jaussaud… They all answered present!

On Sunday, it's time for race with trays all incredible of each other:
we can see Bugatti (for the centenary), Tricyclecars, French Formula
and of course a tray of Alpine A110.
To our great regret, we could not have assist
to this great battle between pilots.
A great “Bravo” to the organizers of this 70th edition of the Circuit
of the Ramparts and long live to the circuit.
